Product of the week: Extra hot Mexicana cheese

This would have to be the nicest and spiciest cheese I’ve found so far. Despite there being quite a few, spicy cheese is rarely very hot because the casein in the cheese counters the capsaicin in the chillis.

Quite often you’ll find chilli cheese is just chunks of chilli hidden in the cheese and every now and then you’ll get a hit of heat when eating. This extra hot cheese is full of chillies and bell peppers so it’s packed with flavour from start to finish.

Despite the name, it’s not from Mexico. In fact it’s a British company using British cheese with a Mexican twist.
