Spicy mackerel pate

If you’re planning a dinner party and wantt something ‘classy’ and light to begin with, this is a quick and easy starter to share. 

Serves 4

  • 130g smoked mackerel
  • 2tbsp horseradish
  • 180g cream cheese
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • Half a packet of dill, roughly chopped

Remove any skin from the mackerel. Break the rest of the fish up and place into a blender. Add the horseradish, cream cheese, lemon zest and juice. Blend to form a pate.

Add the dill and mix together thoroughly. Check the seasoning.

Toast some bread and slice diagonally. Serve with the pate.
